10 Biggest Agatha All Along Theories That Would Change The MCU After Its First Two Episodes

Warning! Contains Spoilers for Agatha All Along Episodes 1 and 2
Agatha All Along has officially premiered, and has already provided plenty of fodder for intriguing theories with the potential to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first two episodes of Agatha All Along have already set up many mysteries, keeping in theme with its spiritual predecessor WandaVision, which first introduced Agatha"s character to the MCU. In such a short amount of time, the Disney+ series has already become a hotbed of fan theories with some pretty groundbreaking implications for the franchise as a whole.
For one, Agatha All Along has already set up some obvious mysteries whose answers may have lasting effects on future MCU projects, such as the identity of John Locke"s mysterious Teen or the true nature of the Witches" Road. Other theories have dug a little deeper, questioning the face value of certain concepts the series has already introduced to the magical side of the MCU. In either case, it"s almost a surefire thing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be forever changed by the resolution of the series.
10 "Teen" Is Nicholas Scratch Agatha All Along May Have Already Provided The Answer For Teen's Identity Close The most pressing mystery set up within the first two episodes of Agatha All Along is easily the identity of John Locke"s character, simply referred to as "Teen" by the credits. The suspicious goth Teen is the one who helps Agatha break the illusion of the true crime-style procedural drama she"s trapped within at the start of the show, wishing to join her on the journey to the Witches" Road. Agatha seems to be under the influence of some spell that hides Teen"s identity from her, with his name and background magically censoring themselves.
It"s very possible that Teen is Nicholas himself, having found his way back to his mother (perhaps unknowingly) through some convoluted magical circumstance.
One of the most glaring possibilities for Teen"s true identity has already been revealed in the first few episodes. It"s revealed that Agatha has a long-lost or dead son named Nicholas Scratch, a character who exists in the original Marvel Comics. It"s very possible that Teen is Nicholas himself, having found his way back to his mother (perhaps unknowingly) through some convoluted magical circumstance.
9 "Teen" Is Billy Kaplan Wiccan Is The More Likely Candidate For Teen's True Backstory Close As compelling as Nicholas Scratch is as Teen"s true identity, an arguably much stronger case can be made for Billy Kaplan, a.k.a. Wiccan. Billy Kaplan is the son of Scarlet Witch, who, in both the MCU and the comics, inherits his mother"s aptitude for arcane power. Teen actually being Billy is almost an open secret among Agatha All Along viewers, with several convincing pieces of evidence supporting the theory.
Related Is Scarlet Witch Really Dead? & 8 Other Burning Questions From Agatha All Along Following in the footsteps of its predecessor WandaVision, the new Marvel series Agatha All Along poses a number of important questions and mysteries.
For one, Teen mentions being interested in being able to use magic "to blast, to shield, to levitate," almost exactly describing Wiccan"s powerset in the comics. But the true smoking gun connecting Teen to Billy is his admission that his mother was the reason Agatha was freed from her illusion, with Wanda"s destruction alongside the Darkhold meaning that Agatha"s false reality is no longer being maintained by its caster. Marvel"s own mistakes in maintaining the secret all but confirm this theory, with Locke being credited as Billy in trailer subtitles (via Comicbookmovie.com).
8 Agatha Is Aware Of Doctor Strange And America Chavez's Activities The "Cause" Of Wanda's Death May Be Reflected In Her Illusion Close A lot can be inferred from the details of the police procedural Agatha is trapped in at the beginning of her self-titled series. Coming across a case whose victim is obviously representative of Scarlet Witch, Agatha"s false reality is able to crumble following the collapse of Wanda and the Darkhold"s influence. The illusion seems to explain this in a way that fits into the narrative of the show-within-a-show, coming up with a key piece of evidence, a book titled Dialogue And Rhetoric: Known History of Learning & Debate, an anagram for "Darkhold."
It seems as though the illusion may also be dimly aware of the two people that set into motion the chain of events leading to Wanda"s death. As a detective, Agatha is made aware of two "perps" who may be connected to the crime, but seem to have gotten away at the scene of a car crash. These "perps" may be none other than Doctor Strange and America Chavez, whose activities following the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could now be known to Agatha.
7 Agatha Is Still In Another Illusion The Perfect Mid-Season Twist Agatha All Along Could Pull Close Within the space of two episodes, Agatha is completely freed from the true crime illusion Wanda trapped her in, allowing her to remember who she is and re-assess her situation. It"s also revealed that this false reality was unique to her, with the other residents of Westview tolerating what they thought to be troublesome hallucinations Agatha suffered from. However, this logic calls into question whether or not Agatha is truly existing in the real world now.
The citizens of Westview are revealed to fully remember the horrifying (from their perspective) events of WandaVision, with Agatha"s neighbor John telling her that they prefer not to even mention Wanda by name. If this is the case, one would think the Westview residents would be much more aware and sympathetic to the possibility that Agatha was trapped in a lingering version of the same illusion that controlled their lives. This could perhaps point to a "Matrix-within-a-Matrix" situation, meaning Agatha has yet to actually emerge into reality.
6 Agatha All Along Will Revive Scarlet Witch The Witches' Road Could Lead To Wanda's Return Close The possibility of Scarlet Witch"s resurrection is certainly not off the table for Agatha All Along, and could easily be the show"s biggest impact on the MCU. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda Maximoff voluntarily gives her life to destroy the Darkhold, collapsing under the ruin of Mount Wungadore and the Darkhold Castle. These events were reflected in Agatha"s hallucination, with Wanda turning up as a murder victim in the crime drama.

As Agatha sets out on her journey to restore her powers, it"s possible that the Witches" Road could revive Scarlet Witch. The road presents a harrowing set of trials that promises to reward any witch that successfully survives the journey with "what they"re missing." If Teen truly is Billy Kaplan, "what he"s missing" could very easily translate to his deceased mother, bringing the Scarlet Witch back to life in the MCU. Considering the Witches" Road"s history as a demiplane connecting the worlds of the living and dead together in the comics, this theory is very palpable.
5 Agatha All Along Will Introduce Mephisto To The MCU One Of The Biggest Missing Villains From The Comics Could See An In To The Series Close Of all the powerful villains from Marvel Comics to never be introduced to the MCU, the demon lord Mephisto might just be the most glaring example. Essentially the Marvel equivalent to the devil himself, Mephisto is an infernal entity responsible for some of the most tragic events in the comics, such as the creation of Ghost Rider and the Green Goblin. With Agatha All Along exploring the MCU"s supernatural side more comprehensively than ever before, Mephisto could finally be canonized in the franchise.
Specifically, the presence of Nicholas Scratch, even as a missing figure in Agatha"s life, legitimizes the possibility of Mephisto"s existence in the MCU. In the comics, after being resurrected by the Salem Seven, Nicholas swears allegiance to the insidious being following his banishment to Hell itself, where Mephisto naturally resides. If Nicholas Scratch ever does appear as the series continues, he could be the perfect avenue to finally introduce Mephisto to the MCU.
4 The Witches' Road Is A Reflection Of Agatha's Psyche The MCU Could Have A Far Different Plan In Mind For The Important Location Close The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been particularly against making drastic changes to the comics when the story allowed it, and their presentation of the Witches" Road could be the next big example of this. One theory relates the presence of the mysterious "Teen" who helps Agatha break free of her illusion to the Witches" Road in a mind-blowing way, postulating that both are actually figments of Agatha"s subconsious. This misdirect would be a great reflection of the similarly ground-breaking reveals made in WandaVision.

2 Agatha didn"t need Teen"s help in breaking the spell placed upon her, which faded naturally after the death of Scarlet Witch. Instead, Teen and Agatha"s journey on the Witches" Road are magical creations of her own subconsious, setting up a journey in which Agatha learns to give up the power she"s been chasing to protect the real Teen (read; Billy) instead. The brief scene in which Teen is seen casting powerful spells in the future could relate to Wiccan becoming a powerful being called "The Demiurge" in the comics, something other less-compassionate witches will want to take advantage of.
3 Rio Vidal Is Victoria Montesi Teen May Not Be The Only Marvel Comics Character Masquerading As An Original Role Close One of the other obvious mysteries set up within the first two episodes of Agatha All Along is the backstory of Rio Vidal, Aubrey Plaza"s character. Rio Vidal is seemingly an original creation of the MCU, referred to as a "green witch" with some connection to Agatha"s past, possibly as an old romantic flame. However, WandaVision had previously pulled the stunt of introducing an original character only to reveal them as a magic-user from the comics with Agatha herself, meaning Rio Vidal might be a mere alias.
There are several tantalizing options that could account for Rio Vidal"s true identity, but the most convincing may just be VIctoria Montesi. In the comics, Victoria Montesi is born to a long line of priests with a unique immunity to the corruption of the Darkhold, though Victoria in particular is also tinged with the blood of the demon Cthon, who resides within the evil tome. It"s possible that the Darkhold"s apparent destruction has heavy implications on Victoria Montesi, moonlighting as Rio Vidal in her search for answers.
2 Agatha All Along Will Tease Doctor Doom's Mother Mephisto Isn't The Only Important Marvel Character The Series Could Introduce Should Mephisto truly be inducted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Agatha All Along, another powerful witch relevant to upcoming films could also be introduced alongside him. Marvel recently announced that Doctor Doom will be the next overarching villain for the Avengers to face, stepping into the spotlight in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Agatha All Along has the unique position to introduce elements of his backstory now, namely, his mother, Cynthia von Doom.
Between her connection to Mephisto and witchcraft in general, Agatha All Along would be remiss not to tease the MCU"s next big bad with the tragic story of his mother.
In the comics, Cynthia von Doom is a witch who makes a deal with Mephisto in order to punish the Barony of Latveria for persecuting the Romani people. Sadly, in doing so, Cynthia unwittingly doomed herself to be tormented by Mephisto for all eternity, passing along her magical affinity to her sorcerer son Victor von Doom, Doctor Doom himself. Between her connection to Mephisto and witchcraft in general, Agatha All Along would be remiss not to tease the MCU"s next big bad with the tragic story of his mother.
1 Billy And Tommy's Souls Were Trapped In The Darkhold The Pages Of The Darkhold Could Explain Billy And Tommy's Return Close If the Teen truly is Billy Kaplan, that would mean that Billy (and Tommy), or at least some versions of them, were somehow able to return to the main MCU timeline despite their apparent destruction at the end of WandaVision. While the multiverse may be an easy explanation for this, a far more interesting answer could lie within the pages of the Darkhold itself. It"s very possible that when Billy and Tommy first disappeared, they didn"t die, but instead had their souls sucked into the nefarious spellbook.
This could have been teased in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which Scarlet Witch hears the voices of what she thinks are the Earth-838 versions of her children crying out for her. In reality, these could have been the cries of her original Billy and Tommy, trapped within the Darkhold. The Darkhold"s subsequent destruction could have released Billy and Tommy"s souls back in time, resulting in the teenage Billy Kaplan introduced in Agatha All Along.
