The MCU Finally Confirms Where The X-Men Are 4 Years After Disney"s Fox Deal

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for The Marvels
Summary
  • In The Marvels post-credits scene, Kelsey Grammer's Beast confirms why the X-Men haven't appeared in the MCU yet properly.
  • The presence of Grammer's Beast hints that Monica Rambeau is transported to the Fox X-Men movie timeline, with references to Professor Xavier and a familiar X-Men aesthetic.
  • While nostalgia may have guided Marvel Studios in bringing back original Fox characters, it is unlikely that the old X-Men will be the stars of the MCU's new X-Men movie due to their aging cast and the need for longevity.
It's taken 4 years, but the MCU just revealed its first legitimate look at the X-Men in The Marvels post-credits scene. Kelsey Grammer's Beast has been confirmed as the surprising first X-Men team member to join the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline. In his third appearance as the X-Men's resident genius, Grammer's presence truly delivered on The Marvels' belated marketing insistence that everything will now change. And crucially, his appearance also solves a mystery that's now been running since 2019.
In The Marvels credits scene, after Monica Rambeau finds herself trapped in another reality at the end of The Marvels, she comes face to face with another returning Fox X-Men character in Grammer's Beast. The genius-level mutant explains that she is in a completely different reality to the main MCU timeline, where the X-Men actively exist. Not only does Beast mention reporting back to Professor Xavier, but the monitor in his lab bears the unmistakable X-Men logo from Fox's movie universe. Essentially, Marvel just explained exactly why MCU fans haven't seen any X-Men in the shared universe since Disney bought Fox.
