Andrew Garfield"s Spider-Man Returns To The MCU In Loki Season 2 Art

Summary
  • Andrew Garfield's return as Peter Parker in the MCU's Loki season 2 is possible, as the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home threatened the stability of the multiverse.
  • While Loki season 1 was disconnected from the MCU, season 2 may not feature cameos from other MCU characters, making a Garfield appearance less likely.
  • A potential return for Garfield as Spider-Man is more likely to happen in Phase 6's Avengers: Secret Wars, which is rumored to include multiversal cameos from various Marvel franchises.
New art promoting Marvel Studios' Loki season 2 sees Andrew Garfield return to the MCU as his version of Peter Parker from Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man film series. Andrew Garfield debuted as Peter Parker in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, taking over the role from Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. While Garfield only portrayed the wall-crawler in two films, his depiction of Spider-Man has been praised, particularly after he and Maguire appeared in the MCU timeline alongside the Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Since his reappearance, there have been calls for Garfield to return as Spider-Man, whether that be in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or in a future MCU project.
Several pieces of fan art have imagined what it might be like to see Maguire and Garfield return to the MCU, and while most have focused on 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars, AGT Design questions whether Garfield could return sooner. In a piece of art shared on Instagram, Garfield's Peter Parker comes face-to-face with Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius from Loki, taken by the Time Variance Authority as a multiversal variant.
Loki season 2 is set for release on October 5, 2023, and could feature several cameos after the destruction of the Sacred Timeline in season 1's finale. This may include Spider-Man variants such as Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker.
