Many fan-made trailers have been made over the years for prospective projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and some of them are worthy of full-length movies. Since its beginnings with 2008's Iron Man, Marvel Studios' shared superhero universe has grown exponentially, and with each exciting addition to the MCU comes new and dedicated viewers. Marvel Studios' audiences are some of the most vocal, appreciative, and committed compared to other superhero movie franchises, and this has led to many convincing fan theories, the creation of some truly stunning pieces of MCU fan art and posters, and several brilliantly-made fan trailers promoting upcoming, possible, and hoped-for future MCU installments.
Some of the strongest fan-made MCU trailers feature crossovers with other Marvel movie franchises, pay off teases for potential future teams in the MCU, and bring some of the most popular MCU fan-casts to life. While some fan-made trailers have been made for projects that likely will never actually be featured in the MCU's ever-expanding timeline, others have been created for projects that have already been announced by Marvel Studios, including Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, and 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. These often imagines what popular rumors and theories might look like if they come to fruition, and form some of the most entertaining and impressive expressions of love for the MCU.

While it's unclear exactly what story will unfold in Venom 3, a fan trailer shared by Screen Culture marks a crossover between the SSU and the MCU, as Tom Hardy's Venom comes face-to-face with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. The trailer finally sees Holland's Peter Parker suit up in his Venom Spider-Man suit, and pays off speculation that Holland's Spider-Man could make his way to the SSU, thanks to the shared deal between Sony and Marvel Studios.
9 Iron Man 4 Robert Downey Jr. only received three solo MCU projects, with his final dedicated film, Iron Man 3, releasing in 2013. While Tony Stark appeared in many MCU stories outside his trilogy, there have been calls for him to return in Iron Man 4. Following Iron Man's death in Avengers: Endgame, a fan-made trailer shared by Screen Culture features the explosive return of the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist alongside his now-adult daughter, Morgan Stark, who has seemingly revived him. Katherine Langford was originally cast as an adult Morgan Stark in Avengers: Endgame, but her scene was cut, so this trailer is a great way to bring her back into the MCU.
8 Thor: Legend Of Hercules Despite the disappointment of 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder, Chris Hemsworth has been confirmed to be returning as the MCU's Thor, and there is speculation that Thor 5 is in development. Though it's too early to estimate the storyline of Thor 5, a fan trailer shared by Screen Culture pays off Love and Thunder's mid-credits scene's introduction of Brett Goldstein as Hercules. In Marvel Comics, Thor and Hercules began as enemies, so their battle would be a perfect story to explore in Thor 5. Since there are suspicions that Thor 5 could be Hemsworth's final MCU project, it's even possible that Hercules may replace the God of Thunder permanently.
7 Thunderbolts Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts is set to release on December 20, 2024, as part of the MCU's Phase 5, bringing together Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Ghost, US Agent, Taskmaster, and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine as a team of antiheroes and reformed villains. Recent rumors have suggested that Steven Yeun has been cast as Thunderbolts' Sentry, who could be pitted against the team for their first adventure, which is imagined in a fan trailer shared by Screen Culture. The trailer is brilliantly put together, highlighting each member of the team, as well as featuring Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus Ross, taking over from the late William Hurt.
6 Fantastic Four Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019 has allowed Marvel Studios to develop a Fantastic Four reboot, bringing Marvel's First Family into the MCU proper. A fan-trailer for Fantastic Four shared by stryder HD imagines popular fan-casts John Krasinski (who previously appeared as Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Emily Blunt, and Zac Efron as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm, respectively. While casting for the Thing is left unclear, Michael Fassbender is featured as the MCU's highly-anticipated Doctor Doom, but it's the trailer's ability to make scenes from 2015's reviled Fantastic Four fit convincingly in the MCU's style that is very impressive.
5 Midnight Sons During the MCU's Phases 4 and 5, several characters who comprise Marvel Comics' Midnight Sons team have been introduced to the MCU, leading to theories that the team could form in live-action soon. A beautifully edited fan trailer shared by Rick Super Philms features the returns of beloved MCU heroes such as Doctor Strange, the Scarlet Witch, and Moon Knight, as well as including multiversal heroes such as Nicolas Cage's Ghost Rider, Wesley Snipes' Blade, and Anya Taylor-Joy's Magik. Set to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Thriller," this Midnight Sons trailer is exhilarating, imagining a realistic line-up for the much-anticipated, supernatural MCU team.
4 Blade Marvel Studios' Blade reboot has had an incredibly lengthy and tumultuous production, but Mahershala Ali's debut as the half-vampire "Daywalker" is set to release on February 14, 2025. A fan-trailer shared by Screen Culture teams Ali's Blade up with Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman, whose future as the MCU's Black Knight was teased in Eternals' post-credits scene. The trailer stitches scenes from Ali's previous work - as well as moments from Eternals and Wesley Snipes' Blade trilogy - to weave a tense and dramatic storyline for the MCU's upcoming Blade. Doubts have since been shed on Harrington's role in Blade, but he and Blade will undoubtedly come together in the MCU's future nonetheless.
3 Eternals: King In Black Even though 2021's Eternals was met with a mixed response, there have been talks of a sequel, which could help to better explain the titular team's story. A fan trailer for the MCU's Eternals 2 shared by Screen Culture, subtitled King in Black in reference to the Marvel Comics' event, features Harry Styles' Eros as a member of the team, as well as the returns of Thor and Dane Whitman. Marvel Comics' King in Black includes an invasion of the Earth by Knull and his symbiotes, so this trailer appears to nod to a potential Eternals 2 crossover event, which would be a great way to better establish them in the MCU.
2 X-Men Similarly to the Fantastic Four, Disney's acquisition of Fox has also allowed mutant characters to be introduced to the MCU, teasing the eventual formation of the X-Men. It was reported by Deadline in September 2023 that developments are finally being made on Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and a fan trailer shared by Screen Culture brings this to life. The trailer features some popular fan-casts including Mark Strong as Professor X and Taron Egerton as Wolverine, as well as marking the return of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch. With Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men: Apocalypse speech as Mystique unfolding throughout the trailer, the video showcases a lot of what audiences seem most excited for when it comes to the MCU's X-Men.
1 Avengers: Secret Wars Avengers: Secret Wars is set to conclude Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga as a whole. Though not much is known about the storyline for 2027's Secret Wars, it's possible that the film could take inspiration from 2015's Marvel Comics Secret Wars event, which featured heroes dealing with the aftermath of a destructive multiversal incursion. A fan trailer shared by Screen Culture shares similar vibes to Avengers: Endgame, picking up after an incursion has seemingly wiped out most of the universe. Doctor Strange bringing together a team of multiversal heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a real possibility, which is what makes this fan-trailer so thrilling.
