Summary

Prior to being cast as the movie's villain, Loki, however, Tom Hiddleston was being considered for the lead role of Thor himself, which eventually went to Australian actor Chris Hemsworth. In fact, Hiddleston went so far as to bulk up and audition for Thor, and this original screen-test footage was seen in a behind the scenes extra on the home release of 2013's Thor: The Dark World, and it's still almost unbelievable.
Secret Wars' Thor Corps Could Be The Perfect Way To Bring Tom Hiddleston Into Avengers 6![]()
While Tom Hiddleston's future in the MCU is uncertain after Loki season 2, there has been speculation that Loki will be returning in Avengers: Secret Wars. Loki is currently watching over the entire multiverse, so it would make sense for him to return before the Multiverse Saga's conclusion, but even if Hiddleston doesn't return as Loki, Avengers: Secret Wars' Marvel Comics inspiration could present another wild opportunity. In 2015's Secret Wars storyline in Marvel Comics, Thor was joined by his multiversal variants in the Thor Corps, which could be the perfect way to bring Tom Hiddleston back to the MCU.
This means that Avengers: Secret Wars could revive Tom Hiddleston's original audition for Thor, featuring him as a variant of the God of Thunder among the Thor Corps. Since Tom Hiddleston has become synonymous with the role of Loki, bringing him back to the MCU as a variant of Thor would put a great spin on his entire 13-year Marvel Studios history. This would likely be nothing more than a cameo from the beloved Loki actor, but featuring Tom Hiddleston as Thor in Avengers: Secret Wars could finally see him portray the character he originally wanted to bring to life.
