With the actor's southern drawl and undeniable charm, this would be an incredible way to use the Academy Award-winning actor in his first MCU appearance.
The actor first rose to prominence after a role in Dazed and Confused in 1993 that, while strong, led to many roles that seemed to reduce the performer to rom-com fodder. For a time, there were jokes that if McConaughey were to show up in a movie, he would be required to take his shirt off.
Perception of the performer has, however, evolved over the years, especially with his appearances in True Detective and Dallas Buyers Club. His short appearance in The Wolf of Wall Street shows that McConaughey can stand out even in the tiniest role. During the Deadpool Corps storylines, a vast array of Deadpools with little twists on their characters including Headpool, Dogpool, and Lady Deadpool, many of which are confirmed as variants in Deadpool & Wolverine, fought against one another. These stories grew big and bombastic, and regrettably, few details were provided for many of these iterations of the hero.
Deadpool Kid is one of these lesser-fleshed-out variants. Thought to be killed by Deadpool, the Deadpool Kid is eventually brought back by Dreadpool in the comics. He winds up fighting against Deadpool in the army of Evil Deadpools, but is eventually killed there as well. It is unclear exactly how much of the comic canon will be used if the character is included in the upcoming film. However, it appears clear that a number of Deadpool variants will certainly be coming together in some kind of multiversal event.

While the character of McConaughey's MCU rejection was never specifically confirmed, it seemed that the actor was up for the villain of the film. This means, McConaughey was considered for the role of Ego, Peter Quill's father. The Celestial was eventually played by Kurt Russell, but McConaughey would have been an equally fantastic choice.
Ever since that near-miss casting, there has been wide speculation on whether McConaughey could fit into the MCU. While McConaughey has spoken of his dream Marvel role in The Hulk after being a fan of the Lou Ferrigno series, the actor would also be well-suited for a number of heroes or villains, including Norman Osborn. However, a Deadpool variant would be an excellent way to tide audiences over until the actor hopefully someday takes on a larger role in the MCU or DCU.
