The second trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux has been released with a song being covered by Arthur Fleck himself that carries a deeper meaning within the DC Elseworlds movie. Joker: Folie a Deux is slated for release on October 4, gearing up to continue the $1 billion success of 2019's Joker. The movie is once again written and directed by Todd Phillips with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as the titular Batman villain. Lady Gaga will join him as she portrays Harley Quinn, who will reportedly go by "Lee" in this movie.
It is already apparent that music will play a key role in the film, which has been described as a Jukebox Musical. From trailer footage and promotional images, it seems clear that Arthur Fleck will encounter Lee in Arkham Asylum before the two seemingly embark on a chaotic crime spree as Joker and Harley Quinn. The music for the first Joker teaser trailer featured Sammy Davis Jr. and Tom Jones's rendition of "What the World Needs Now." The second trailer, meanwhile, features Arthur Fleck himself covering another popular song from the 1960s.
