First Live-Action Spider-Woman Confirmed To Appear In Sony"s Spider-Man Spinoff Madame Web

Sony's Spider-Man spinoff movie, Madame Web, is set to officially feature Spider-Woman, making this film her live-action debut. One of the most mysterious films that are coming up in Sony's Spider-Man Universe is Madame Web, featuring Dakota Johnson as the titular heroine. Based on set photos and videos throughout production, Madame Web will seemingly be a prequel to some degree, supposedly taking place in the early 2000s. While Johnson is headlining the film, Madame Web has tapped multiple cast members whose characters have been kept under wraps.
One of them is Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, who has been rumored to have been cast as Spider-Woman, specifically the Julia Carpenter version. After several months of staying silent on the mystery, Sweeney has officially been confirmed to be playing Julia in Madame Web. In an interview with Total Film Magazine (via Games Radar,) Sweeney broke her silence about landing the role as one of Marvel's iconic Spider-heroes while also teasing her dynamic with her co-stars, sharing the following:
I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to be able to talk about it. I can't wait to be able to be next to the girls that I filmed with – Dakota and Isabela, and Celeste. We had so much fun together. And I'm really excited that it's just gonna be a powerhouse of badass females for the world to see.
