Star Trek Finally Confirms the Hidden Truth About Quark

Warning: contains spoilers for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Dog of War #2!Star Trek has finally confirmed the truth about the personality of Deep Space Nine’s beloved bartender Quark. For seven seasons, the Ferengi bartender concocted one 'get rich quick' scheme after another, all in the name of profit. Yet the show hinted Quark was much deeper than that, and in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Dog of War #2, fans get confirmation of Quark’s true - and surprising - personality.
The issue is written by Mike Chen, drawn by Angel Hernández, colored by Nick Filardi and lettered by Neil Uyetake. After Quark's newly acquired dog Latinum has its Borg tech taken by Captain Sisko, Quark has a week to take care of the dog before its arranged buyer arrives. As Latinum accompanies Quark on his daily rounds, a number of his colleagues on Deep Space Nine note the bond that he now apparently shares with the dog, though of course Quark downplays it. Later, Quark begins to piece matters together: Latinum’s buyer is a poacher who wishes to kill the dog and stuff it. Quark is horrified, and agrees to work with a mysterious party to bring down the buyer and save the dog’s life.
