The MCU Has Never Been Closer To Solving A 10 Year Old Guardians Of The Galaxy Mystery

Guardians of the Galaxy opened up the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although this exploration has left behind a number of questions that to this day have not been addressed. This has been common with Marvel, whose MCU credits trend has seen so many stories, characters, and mysteries set up that are never fulfilled in later films. Years later, audiences are still waiting to see what was the point of introducing characters like Starfox in Eternals or Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Fortunately, there does not seem to be an expiration date to these teases, suggesting that any of these could be returned to in the future. After Eternals set up the fall of Tiamut into the ocean, these significant details have only been glossed over with the Celestial being barely addressed in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. However, this significant detail seems to play into the story of Captain America: Brave New World and the discovery of Adamantium. Thankfully, another age-old question may be addressed by a new Marvel character.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Never Answered Where The Celestial Head Came From Knowhere Has Played Into Several MCU Films Close In Guardians of the Galaxy, the location of Knowhere plays a significant role. Knowhere is the disembodied head of a Celestial, where the Tivan Group sent miners to harvest the incredible resources from inside. This aligns with how Adamantium will be used in Captain America 4. Following this, the location has become prominent in the Guardians series, featuring heavily as a base of operations for the team. This makes sense. However, little has been addressed about how Knowhere came to be.
While Eternals significantly explored the place of incredible, godlike beings, including Celestials, in the Marvel Universe, nothing was done to address or explain Knowhere"s existence. Celestials are some of the most powerful beings in the universe and were even responsible for the Big Bang itself. Following this, the legacy of whatever Celestial was used to create Knowhere could be a significant detail in the MCU. Fortunately, the introduction of a new character helps to explain this.
Knowhere's Marvel Comics Origin Explained Knull May Have Created Knowhere Close Knowhere existed in Marvel Comics for about a decade before an explanation for its origin was provided. The place was used as a port of call at the end of the universe, for adventurers to stop while travelling through the far reaches of space. Years later, it was finally revealed that Knull, the god of the Symbiotes, was the one behind the creation of Knowhere. With his incredible cosmic powers, Knull beheaded a Celestial with All-Black the Necrosword and used the head for himself.
At this station, Knull was able to use the Celestial"s latent power and materials to create more Symbiotes. This origin of the station that has been used for good is dark and disturbing. It has actually been contested in the comics themselves. Notably, during the 2015 Secret Wars comics, God Emperor Doom claims that he was the one who slayed the Celestial, as it had come to collect Battleworld from him. In this explanation, Knowhere exists as a testament to Doom"s power, not Knulls.
Knull's Marvel Movie Arrival Can Finally Answer The Celestial Question Knull Has Been Introduced To The Larger Marvel Universe In Venom: The Last Dance Close By the ending of Venom: The Last Dance, Knull has been setup as an enormous new threat in the larger Marvel Universe. While that film is not directly connected to the MCU and does take place in a different universe, there are already ties to the MCU with Venom"s traveling to Spider-Man"s universe in his previous film. Using his dark, cosmic powers, Knull also has the power to travel throughout the multiverse, and with part of Venom"s symbiote being left there, the villain certainly has a reason to go to the MCU.
In addition to multiverse travel, Knull can manipulate time and space. By acknowledging this comic book origin of Knowhere, Knull could be an Avengers level threat. While there has been some talk of Knull appearing in Spider-Man 4, the villain has such incredible power that Knull compares favorably to other MCU villains and could be a much bigger deal than this. Knull"s future has already been revealed to extend beyond Venom 3, which will likely lead to engaging stories just ahead.

4 While more recent reports about Knull suggest that the villain could be set up for a Sinister Six movie, the introduction of Knull to the larger universe could have many impacts on multiple projects. An explanation for Knowhere using Knull would only help to expand the MCU and to provide greater detail to the compelling villains. Whatever is done with Knull in the future, acknowledging this history in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an excellent way to provide cohesion and explanation for these many projects.
