Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star Hailee Steinfeld appears in new photos dressed as her character, Gwen Stacy. Steinfeld first played Spider-Gwen in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with the actress returning for an even bigger part in the sequel, the recently released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Amid the positive reception to the Spider-Verse sequel, audiences are now getting a peek at what Steinfeld could look like as Gwen Stacy in live-action.
On Instagram, Steinfeld shared photos of herself wearing similar clothes to Gwen Stacy's school uniform from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Gwen remains a standout character in the Spider-Verse franchise, and as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's ending suggests, she will be a major part of next year's Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. With live-action elements being present in the second film, there is a chance that Steinfeld could appear as Gwen in live-action soon.
Will Gwen Stacy Appear On-Screen In Live-Action? Your browser does not support the video tag. There are a couple of ways in which Gwen Stacy could appear in live-action in the near future. The first of them is related to the Spider-Verse franchise. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse included live-action elements, with cameos by Venom's Mrs. Chen and Donald Glover as the Prowler, presumably from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film also included archival footage of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's versions of Spider-Man, as well as a mention of Tom Holland's MCU Peter Parker.
Based on that, and how the Spider-Verse franchise aims to get bigger with each movie, there is a real possibility that Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter B. Parker, and the rest of the team will come into contact with live-action characters like the three cinematic Spider-Men by traversing into a live-action universe. Holland was rumored to appear in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse with Miles as the young hero visited a live-action universe. While that rumor might have always been fake, it is possible that the moment was saved for the trilogy finale.
Gwen Stacy could also appear in the MCU through a more traditional take on the character rather than the Spider-Gwen version that Steinfeld plays. Holland's Peter Parker is all alone after Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending, which makes it the perfect time for Gwen Stacy to enter his life and help him be happy again in Spider-Man 4. However, if that does happen, then Steinfeld would not be able to play Gwen, as the actress already brings life to Kate Bishop, the new Hawkeye, in the MCU. Even if she does not play Gwen in live-action, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse shows that Steinfeld's talents are in good hands in animation.
