As he gears up to join the colorful Mattel world, Simu Liu has the perfect response to the idea of a Barbie Ken and Shang-Chi toy crossover. Liu is starring in the upcoming adaptation of the iconic doll as one of multiple variations of Barbie"s boyfriend Ken, the others of whom include Ryan Gosling"s primary Ken, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Ncuti Gatwa and John Cena as a mermaid version of the character. Barbie will center on Margot Robbie and Gosling"s incarnations heading into the real world in the hopes of finding the true meaning of life and happiness.With just a month remaining until it hits theaters, Simu Liu took to Twitter to share his excitement over a Barbie movie pop-up at one of the few Toys "R" Us stores still open. One of the movie"s many Ken actors even shared his various ideas for crossovers between the toy of himself and of his Marvel Cinematic Universe hero, Shang-Chi, ranging from fighting Thanos with one another to making the two kiss. How Barbie Continues Liu"s Rise To Stardom

Though having enjoyed consistently positive reviews with his work in the Canadian sitcom Kim"s Convenience Store, Liu properly broke out with international audiences thanks to his leading turn in the MCU"s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the titular role. Shortly thereafter, a number of independent releases got bigger attention thanks to Liu"s involvement in them, including the well-received drama Women is Losers and sci-fi thriller Simulant, in which he starred alongside Avatar lead Sam Worthington.
Liu also has lined up a number of high-profile projects following Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" success, including an in-development sequel to the MCU movie and reteaming with Disney for an episode of the animated anthology show Star Wars: Visions. His turn as Ken in Barbie has been one of the more anticipated after his breakout role, especially with his frequent teases of how wild the movie is set to be, ranging from musical numbers to the painful waxing treatment he underwent to become Ken.
Barbie and the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sequel won"t be the end for Liu"s ongoing potential on the screen, though. The Canadian actor has already filmed roles in the Mark Wahlberg-led adventure movie Arthur the King, the Netflix sci-fi thriller Atlas in which he stars alongside The Mother"s Jennifer Lopez, and is reuniting with Shang-Chi co-star Awkwafina for the action-comedy Grand Theft Lotto, which began filming in March, though its status is unclear amid the ongoing WGA writers strike.
