Chris Pratt Gives Update On Star-Lord"s MCU Return & If He"d Join James Gunn"s DCU

  • Chris Pratt hints at a potential return as Star-Lord in the MCU, but leaves the door open for joining DC Universe with James Gunn.
  • The actor sees a possibility of juggling roles in both Marvel and DC worlds simultaneously.
  • Pratt expresses excitement for potential crossover opportunities between the two cinematic universes.
Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy star Chris Pratt gives new updates on his potential return as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and if he sees himself joining James Gunn's DC Universe. Phase 5 marked the end of an era for one of the MCU's most beloved franchises as the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy was finally completed. As Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 marked the conclusion for Gunn in the MCU, some of his actors are far from done with Marvel Studios.
In a new interview with ComicBook, Pratt was asked whether or not he thinks he will be back as Star-Lord in the MCU or if he may be jumping over to Gunn's DC Universe. In a fun twist, Pratt seems himself be able to be part of both worlds, as he shared the following:
Well, it probably make more sense that I would be Star Lord again. But anything is possible, and especially with James over at DC. Maybe there's something that would be right over there. Maybe both. How about both? Let's do both. I think it's 100% both.
Related 10 MCU Movies Or Shows Star-Lord Could Return In Following the confirmation of his return following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it"s time to speculate where Star-Lord will appear in the MCU next.
How Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Already Setup Chris Pratt's Next MCU Project Close The ending to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 saw the team go through a significant shake-up; as other members parted ways, others were taking their place as part of a new generation. One of the founding members to step off the ship was Star-Lord, as Peter Quill is looking to build a life on Earth. However, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 made it clear that his story is not ending, with the post-credits scene teasing, "The Legendary Star-Lord will return."
While the storyline could go in various directions, The Legendary Star-Lord seems like a natural movie or TV show for Pratt to show up next. The title, which is drawing directly from the comic book series of the same name, indicates that whatever his future hold for him, Peter could be focusing to be a superhero on his own. It would also genuinely be intriguing to explore Star-Lord having to operate by himself rather than have a team, as has been the case for the last couple of years of his life.
The bigger question is where a hypothetical The Legendary Star-Lord project would land in the MCU's current release schedule. Given how The Multiverse Saga has been dealing with a lot of shake-ups, it wouldn't be shocking if Star-Lord's own solo film or series doesn't happen until Phase 7 at the earliest. But for now, the world will have to wait and see what is next for Star-Lord in the larger MCU.
