DCEU"s Supergirl Actor Shares Advice For Her DC Universe Replacement

DCEU star Sasha Calle responds to Milly Alcock starring as Kara Zor-El in the DC Universe film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. One of the most highly anticipated films coming out of Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, set to feature Alcock as the next live-action version of Krypton's last daughter. Production is expected to begin in late 2024/early 2025, as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is currently slated to release in June 2026.
In a new interview with IndieWire, Calle was asked if she had any advice for the next Supergirl actress. Calle, who played the Girl of Steel in 2023's The Flash, had nothing but love for her successor, as she stated the following about Alcock suiting up as Supergirl:
Have so much fun. You look so badass. Just f-----g kill it and have fun!
How The DC Universe's Supergirl Is Set To Be Different To The DCEU's Close While Supergirl in the DCEU movie timeline had a very short run, there will be a lot of differences between Calle and Alcock's iterations of the character. A key factor to remember here is that Calle's Supergirl was the result of Barry Allen messing with the timeline as he traveled back in time to alter his own past, which in turn created a new present for the rest of the DCEU. In this world, Kal-El never became a hero as he didn't grow up and instead died as a baby.
In James Gunn's DC Universe, Supergirl will exist at the same time as Superman, who will be played by David Corenswet in the 2025 film. Alcock's Kara will also be heavily influenced by the version that headlines the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, on which her solo film is based. Gunn has also stated that this Supergirl will be "a much harsher and more f—ked up Supergirl than we've been used to this far."
All that remains now for the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie is learning who else is starring in the film alongside Alcock. With casting reportedly being underway, time will tell what other characters will be showing up from the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic run in Gunn's DC Universe. Hopefully, more news about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will emerge over the next few months as 2024 gets ready to close out.
