Why Superboy Visits THAT Character In Titans Season 4, Episode 8

Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Titans season 4, episode 8, "Dick & Carol & Ted & Kory."The final scene of Titans season 4's two-part mid-season premiere suggested a team-up is in the works between Superboy Conner Kent and an unexpected villain. This continues a trend from the first half of the season, which showed Conner beginning to emulate Lex Luthor and favoring his intellect and scientific devices over his superpowers. It also continues a trend of Conner being increasingly deceptive and going behind the backs of the other Titans.
Conner vanished suddenly in Titans season 4, episode 7, "Caul's Folly," after discovering a letter from his father Lex Luthor and a journal written in an ancient Tamaranean dialect. Conner gave the journal to Nightwing but kept the contents of the letter secret. Later, Conner sought out Lex's assistant Mercy Graves, who confirmed that Lex was preparing to fight the Church of Blood before his death but left it to Conner if he should act on his own or rejoin the Titans. This was the last that was seen of Conner until the final scene of Titans season 4, episode 8, "Dick & Carol & Ted & Kory."
