That Can"t Be How Titans Season 4"s Cliffhanger Is Resolved, Right?!

Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Titans season 4, episode 7, "Caul's Folly."The premiere of Titans season 4's second half did a bad job of resolving the cliffhanger that concluded Titans season 4, part 1. This was particularly vexing, given how the mid-season finale raised the stakes of the series substantially, with one character's death and another character's unexpected use of their powers. Unfortunately, none of these story elements figured into the story of the first two episodes of Titans season 4, part 2.
The Titans episode "Brother Blood" ended in turmoil, as Sebastian Sanger became Brother Blood and embraced his dark destiny as the Son of Trigon. The Titans disappeared as Brother Blood turned his power upon them, with the sorceress Jinx dying, as Beast Boy pondered a cryptic warning that he'd been given by a strange man, "When the tower splits in half, go to The Red." It was ambiguous just what caused the Titans to vanish, and the mid-season premiere episode "Caul's Folly" did nothing to clarify matters.
