James Gunn Debunks Henry Cavill Return To DC In Non-Superman Role Rumor

James Gunn debunks Henry Cavill joining the new DC Universe following reports about him playing a non-Superman role. Following the launch of DC Studios, a new DC Universe is being created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. While the DCEU still has a few movies left to release, the franchise is essentially coming to an end in favor of the DC Universe. In January of this year, the duo announced the first batch of TV shows and movies in Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters." Gunn has stressed that they haven't even announced half of the things they have in the works for the DC Universe.
Most of the announced DC Studios movies and TV shows that have been announced haven't begun filming. However, one project that has come a long way is Creature Commandos, an upcoming HBO Max show with Gunn as the writer.
While Creature Commandos is further along than other DC Universe projects, James Gunn recently had to debunk another rumor. Reports were claiming that Cavill was joining Creature Commandos to voice Frankenstein. Gunn made it clear that they have already tapped an actor for Frankenstein, and it's not Cavill. In fact, Cavill was never even approached to play Frankenstein in the animated series.
