Picard Season 3 Easter Egg Raises A Big Sisko DS9 Question

Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 2 - "Disengage"The inclusion of a surprising Easter egg in a scene from Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 2 presents a huge question about Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks). While the USS Titan-A faces down The Shrike and Captain Vadic (Amanda Plummer), Commander Raffaela Musiker (Michelle Hurd) is on M'Talas Prime continuing her investigation into the theft of weapons from Daystrom Station. Raffi's mission plunges her into the seedy underbelly of the Star Trek universe, and where she runs afoul of a Ferengi gangster called Sneed (Aaron Stanford).
Unsatisfied with Starfleet Intelligence shutting down the investigation into the Red Lady attack, Raffi approaches Sneed seeking answers. As she arrives at his lair, the Ferengi motions to shelves of "human things", which appear to include a surprising DS9 Easter egg in the form of a baseball in a glass case. The last time the item was seen was when Star Trek: Lower Decks visited Deep Space Nine in season 3, episode 6, "Hear All, Trust Nothing". Major Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor) had the baseball sitting on her desk, in honor of the baseball's previous owner Captain Benjamin Sisko.
