Daredevil Star Addresses If Born Again Will Still Be Violent On Disney Plus

Vincent D'Onofrio has commented on if Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again will still be as violent as the original Netflix show was. D'Onofrio is no stranger to the Marvel universe, having played the main villain of Netflix's Daredevil, Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin, throughout the show's three seasons. D'Onofrio's Kingpin became well known for the character's absolute brutality in dispatching his enemies, with Netflix's Daredevil presenting a number of brutal, bloody, and intricate fight scenes. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not really gone through the violent lengths of the Netflix series yet, D'Onofrio's comments on Daredevil: Born Again's violence should ease fans' concerns.
Speaking with Newsweek, D'Onofrio promised Daredevil: Born Again would still be violent, even with the series airing on Disney+. According to the actor, Daredevil: Born Again will feature both "emotional violence as well as just out-and-out physical violence." D'Onofrio noted how he was apprehensive at first about the new series' possible lack of the "raw and brutal" violence of Netflix's Daredevil — just like the fans — but that his concerns went away after he saw what Marvel had been doing in that area with its shows on Disney+. D'Onofrio states that Daredevil: Born Again will feature "the most brutal stuff that Marvel is doing." Check out the full quote below:

"It was a concern of mine too because the Netflix show was so raw and brutal, you know? But then I started to look at what Marvel's been doing lately with their series, and the direction that they want to go in.
All I can say [...] is that if you look at the most brutal stuff that Marvel is doing, which is few and far between but it's there, it will be there for us too. I think one of the things that the fans loved with the original show was that it wasn't just violence to be violent. It was, at times, a bit shocking to see but it was all based in emotional stuff, from Charlie's part and mine. These are two very emotional characters caught up in this life of theirs, so it will answer all of that for the fans.
We will bring it on, and we will have emotional violence as well as just out-and-out physical violence.”
