Jon Bernthal Begins Training For MCU Punisher Return, 4 Years After Netflix Cancellation

Jon Bernthal begins training for his major return as The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel Studios has been producing its own shows for Disney+, the original Marvel TV era is getting its due. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio returned to the MCU in 2021 as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. While Cox appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he also went on to recur in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. But the MCU star is getting his own Daredevil show again, this time on Disney+.
One of the big reveals for the MCU series is that Bernthal is coming back as Punisher. Bernthal has begun training for his highly anticipated return by getting back into boxing. The professional boxer, @SlinkProper, shared a video of them working out together while praising Bernthal's Punisher.
While not a sequel to Netflix's Daredevil show, Daredevil: Born Again will be a semi-continuation. The series officially started production last month and filming is expected to go on for most of 2023.
