Blue Beetle Cast & DC Character Guide
The cast of Blue Beetle, the last movie in the DCEU, is filled with both famous actors and fresh talent on the rise. The DC Extended Universe has already introduced famous DC icons such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League. Now, it's time for a younger yet still well-known DC hero to make his live-action debut.
Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Blue Beetle follows the story of Jaime Reyes, a teenager who acquires a superhero suit when he discovers a mystical scarab relic that fuses to his body. Although Jaime becomes the titular Blue Beetle in the modern day, the technologically advanced suit already passed through the hands of other heroes years before him. Blue Beetle is one of the movies in DC's 2023 movie slate that are set in the DC Extended Universe, but it serves as a standalone introduction for the young hero and as the introduction of his supporting cast.
Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle![]()
The DC superhero Blue Beetle, whose real name is Jaime Reyes, is a novice DC superhero who receives a high-tech suit from an ancient relic in the form of a scarab. In the comics, Jaime is the third character to take up the Blue Beetle mantle after Dan Garrett and Ted Kord, and he's a member of the DC superhero team Teen Titans. In the 2023 live-action DC movie, Jaime Reyes is played by Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña, who plays the protagonist Miguel Diaz in the Netflix sequel to the Karate Kid franchise.
Xolo Maridueña had his breakthrough role in Parenthood, where he starred as Victor Graham in seasons 4 through 6. He also appeared in shows such as Twin Peaks and Rush Hour. Besides, he has lent his voice to several animated series, including Fast & Furious Spy Racers, Cleopatra in Space, and Batwheels.

Victoria Kord, the CEO of Kord Industries, is Blue Beetle's main antagonist. In DC Comics, Victoria Kord is the sister of the second Blue Beetle, Ted Kord. In the DC movie, Victoria Kord is played by Susan Sarandon, whose iconic roles include Louise in Thelma & Louise and Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sarandon has also received critical acclaim for her performances in films such as The Client, Lorenzo's Oil, and Atlantic City, and she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Sister Helen Prejean in Dead Man Walking.
