Madame Web's Sydney Sweeney suffers a real-life spider bite in a new video. The actress plays Spider-Woman in the upcoming Sony movie based on Marvel's Spider-Man characters. Madame Web's cast also includes Dakota Johnson, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Adam Scott, and more. Sweeney plays Julia Carpenter, one of the bearers of the Spider-Woman mantle in the comics, who serves as one of Madame Web's four Spider-Man-related heroes.
On Twitter, Discussing Film shared a chaotic video that shows Sweeney getting bit by a spider on the set of her upcoming rom-com, Anyone But You, and freaking out.
As Sweeney starts to frantically scream following being bitten by a huntsman spider, the rest of the people on the set react slowly, seemingly believing that she is still in character. It is not until Sweeney says that the spider "really bit" her that co-star Glen Powell, who played Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick, and others come to her aid.
Related Madame Web: Release Date, Cast, & Everything We Know So Far Madame Web will be released in 2024, and between casting announcements and set photos, it looks like another mind-bending multiversal movie. What To Expect From Madame Web The Multiverse Could Be Coming To Sony's Spider-Man Universe Madme Web will introduce a new side of Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Johnson's character, Cassandra Webb, is the main role in the movie. Cassandra has the ability of clairvoyance, which allows her to see into the future, as was shown in the Madame Web trailer. The character is able to connect to other Spider-people, which is how she finds the other heroes in the movie.
The Spider-Man-related heroes confirmed for the movie are Cassandra Webb, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, and Anya Corazon. The heroes will come to a collision course with the movie's villain, Ezekiel Sims. Tahar Rahim plays Sims, who looked eerily like Spider-Man in the trailer from Madame Web rather than how the character is usually portrayed in the comics.
Sims was revealed to be after the other Spider-heroes in Madame Web, with the character telling Johnson's Cassandra in the movie's trailer that she does not know what the other women are capable of. Madame Web's cast also includes Emma Roberts and Adam Scott in mysterious roles. According to rumors, the duo might be playing young versions of May and Ben Parker, respectively, with Madame Web somehow tying into Peter Parker's origin story as Spider-Man. As a multiversal being in the comics, the movie could explore that aspect of the character, though it remains if Madame Web will delve into the multiverse.
