Loki May Finally Be Capable Of An Incredible MCU Feat Only 3 Other Characters Have Accomplished

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Loki season 2
Summary
  • Loki's sacrifice and transformation in the season 2 finale has made him into the MCU's version of the God of Stories, likely with an increased cosmic awareness.
  • He now has the ability to witness and see far more than before, and this could include the mysterious and powerful cosmic being Uatu the Watcher.
  • It is rare for characters to see the Watcher against his will, but Loki's new godhood and cosmic awareness may allow him to eventually meet the Watcher in future seasons of "What If...?" or perhaps even in "Avengers: Secret Wars."
Loki may finally be capable of an impressive new feat in the MCU. Following the Loki season 2 finale, the former God of Mischief has effectively become the MCU's God of Stories, mirroring his evolved godhood in the original comics. To that end, Loki may have gained an increased cosmic awareness, allowing him to achieve something only three other MCU characters have done before.
As seen during Loki season 2's ending, Loki made the ultimate sacrifice by destroying the TVA's Temporal Loom. He then used his Asgardian powers and time-slipping to become a new god and living loom, maintaining the Sacred Timeline while also restoring free will across the various realities. To that end, this likely means that Loki can now see and witness far more than ever before. This could include knowledge regarding one of the MUC's most mysterious and powerful cosmic beings: The Watcher.
Related How To Watch the Marvel Movies In Order (By Release Date & In Order Of MCU Timeline Events) Want to catch up before the next release, or just revisit the universe for a refresher? Here's the order to watch the entire MCU timeline. Loki's New MCU Role Means He Can Likely See The Watcher He Likely Has A Higher Cosmic Awareness As a new god protecting the entire Sacred Timeline originally fashioned by He Who Remains, it certainly seems as though Loki is now at his most powerful. This could certainly mean that Loki is now aware of Uatu the Watcher. Having made his first appearance in Marvel's What If...? as the show's narrator, Uatu is primarily a cosmic observer of various timelines and realities, though he eventually becomes a leading protagonist after taking a more active role in protecting the multiverse. That said, he often goes unseen and unknown to those he's witnessing.
That being said, it's not a stretch to propose the idea that Loki now knows about Uatu's existence. After all, he's now in a very similar position to the Watcher himself as an observer and protector of the Sacred Timeline. In many respects, it would follow that the two of them are now on a very similar plane of existence and cosmic awareness within the greater MCU multiverse.
Every Other MCU Character Who Has Seen The Watcher Against His Will Uatu Isn't Always A Hidden Observer Regardless of whether Loki can see the Watcher or not, it's very rare when an MCU character can see Uatu against his will. To date, the only characters who can are the dark Strange Supreme, Infinity Ultron, and Groot. It's evident that watching the Watcher himself requires great power and cosmic awareness, something Loki now wields from his new throne, maintaining all the branches on the new Sacred Timeline Loki's since turned into a multiversal tree. With any luck, Loki and his new godhood will cross paths with Uatu, either in new seasons of What If...? or perhaps even in Avengers: Secret Wars.
