WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from The Flash movie. With a new Supergirl movie in the works, Sasha Calle opens up about meeting with DC Studios to potentially reprise the role of Kara Zor-El after
The Flash. While The Flash was Barry Allen's major cinematic adventure, the DCEU installment also brought to life Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, for the first time in theaters since the 1984 movie with Helen Slater. Loosely inspired by Flashpoint, Calle's Supergirl filled a similar role as Superman in the iconic DC Comics arc, as Henry Cavill's Kal-El never made it to Earth after Barry's time-travel actions.
One of the big questions, however, about Calle's Supergirl is whether or not she will be back for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which will be part of the DC Universe. It appears that Calle may, in fact, not be done portraying the Girl of Steel. In an interview with USA Today, Calle confirmed that she have had meetings with Peter Safran, who is one of the DC Studios co-CEOs, about potentially continuing portraying Supergirl after The Flash.
I hope to continue playing Supergirl. I love her so deeply and I feel so connected to her.
