The DCU’s First Movie Has The Exact Opposite Problem To The DCEU’s

The first official DCU movie will be Blue Beetle, and it's going to have the exact opposite problem as the prior DCEU's first movie with Man of Steel. Starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel was the first film to kickstart DC's shared movie universe that's been ongoing since 2013. However, a new DCU is imminent, coming with its own set of unique challenges.
Releasing in August, Blue Beetle will star Xolo Maridueña as the titular hero, a coming-of-age story with Jaime Reyes embracing his heroic destiny after obtaining a high-tech alien armor that chooses him to be its host. Despite its development preceding new DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, Gunn has confirmed that Blue Beetle is isolated enough that the film will be considered the first movie in the new DCU, the official soft reboot of the DCEU. However, it's evident that Blue Beetle is going to face the exact opposite challenge Man of Steel did.
