Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Box Office Totals & Every Record Broken

In the weeks since its release, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has broken five box office records. The animated feature is a sequel to the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. While the 2018 film did a brilliant job of introducing Shameik Moore's Miles Morales, a groundbreaking animation style, and a multiverse-wide story, the sequel has managed to surpass the original movie in most ways. Moore is back as Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, as are Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson's Peter B. Parker, but the main Spider-Verse characters are joined by a wide array of the multiverse versions of the hero. The world gets bigger in the Spider-Verse sequel.
Miles leaves his universe this time, traveling to other dimensions and eventually meeting Oscar Isaac's Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099. Miguel explains the Spider-Verse's canon events to Miles, a plot point that is crucial to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and next year's trilogy finale, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The explanation takes place at the Spider-Society's HQ, a place that unites thousands of Spider-Man from all across the multiverse, with so many cameos that fans will have to see the movie repeated times to catch them all. In fact, that appears to be what is happening, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has broken a handful of box office records.
