All 13 MCU Guardians Of The Galaxy Members, Ranked Worst To Best

WARNING: This article includes spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ended the journey of some members of the team while also setting up new adventures for a handful, and a brand-new Guardians roster, with new names being added to the Guardians of the Galaxy members' ranking. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 did a great job of bringing the stories of the current iteration of the team to an end. James Gunn will now move over to shepherd the new DC Universe, while actors like Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldaña have confirmed their time as their Guardians of the Galaxy characters has ended. However, new characters have taken up the veterans' roles.
The first one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's post-credits scenes introduced a new iteration of the MCU's beloved cosmic team. After Chris Pratt's Peter Quill named Rocket Raccoon the new captain of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the team disbanded, the film's first post-credits scene picked up with Rocket's new Guardians team on a mission. Rocket is joined by his best friend Groot, Kraglin, Adam Warlock, Cosmo the Spacedog, and Phyla. The new members of the Guardians of the Galaxy have not had enough time to measure up against the older members, but their potential to top the list of best Guardians members exists.
Phyla Phyla is not only the youngest member of the new Guardians of the Galaxy but is also the one who has appeared the least of all the members on the list. The character was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as one of the kids that were part of the High Evolutionary's perfected race that the villain had imprisoned on his ship. Phyla escaped with the other kids thanks to the help of the Guardians. Surprisingly, the young girl was revealed at the end of the movie as part of Rocket's new Guardians team. Kai Zen's Phyla is likely the MCU's version of Phyla-Vell.
Cosmo Maria Bakalova's Cosmo the Spacedog comes from two charming appearances recently in the MCU, with a role in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and a scene-stealing performance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Cosmo's strong telekinetic abilities and her "good dog" debate with Kraglin throughout the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy finale showed how much potential the character has if given a bigger screen time. With Cosmo being revealed to be part of the new Guardians of the Galaxy team at the end of the film, Bakalova's MCU role can only grow.
Kraglin Sean Gunn's Kraglin has been a fixture of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise throughout the MCU, with the character's importance to the team growing with each appearance. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 finally saw Kraglin step up to a whole new level, with the character mastering Yondu's arrow and using the weapon to save the population in Knowhere from an invasion led by the High Evolutionary. Kraglin's role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set up the character for an even bigger part in the MCU's future, with Gunn's character staying as a member of Rocket's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Adam Warlock Adam Warlock was first teased in one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's post-credits scenes, with the character debuting in the MCU in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, played by Will Poulter. Gunn set Warlock on a path to greatness in the MCU despite the character's lack of involvement in the movie adaptation of his biggest storyline — The Infinity Gauntlet. Adam Warlock had quite the arc in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, going from doing the High Evolutionary's bidding to saving Star-Lord's life and becoming a member of the new Guardians of the Galaxy team alongside his pet, Blurp. Warlock has a bright future in the MCU.
Yondu Michael Rooker's Yondu had a very interesting arc in the MCU through the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The character is best known for being the leader of one of the Ravager clans and the one responsible for kidnapping Peter Quill as a child, which would lead to Pratt's character eventually becoming Star-Lord and forming the Guardians of the Galaxy. Yondu was welcomed into the MCU's cosmic team of heroes by Groot — which Rocket translated — in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The character would later sacrifice himself for Quill, cementing their unconventional father-son bond and letting Yondu go out as a hero.
Thor Chris Hemsworth's MCU journey as Thor has seen him be part of the Earth-based Avengers and the cosmic team of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After being found by the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War, Thor embarked on a mission with Rocket and Groot to craft Stormbreaker to save the universe. Avengers: Endgame saw Thor bond with Rocket as the two were paired together for a crucial exploration of Thor's past through time travel. At the end of the movie, Thor went on to travel with the team, dubbing the Guardians as the "Asgardians of the Galaxy." Thor: Love and Thunder saw the Avenger and the team part ways.
