6 Theories About MCU"s Phase 5 & 6 Plans Before Adding More Kang

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga might have looked a lot different from what it does today, and it's all owed to Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror. Majors debuted as the Kang variant known as He Who Remains during Loki season 1. He Who Remains' death is what helped kickstart the MCU's Multiverse Saga, with Majors playing a big role in the overarching narrative. The actor debuted the anticipated Kang the Conqueror in the first release of Phase 5, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which set up the multiversal Council of Kangs. While Majors' Kang is integral to the Multiverse Saga, that might not have always been the case.
Marvel reportedly changed the MCU's Phase 5 & 6 plans because of Majors' Kang. According to the new report, the MCU's Phase 5 & 6 were not initially planned to feature Kang in such a central role. That all changed when Marvel saw Majors' gripping performance as He Who Remains in Loki and the first bits of footage that came from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's production. As Kang the Conqueror was originally going to have a smaller role in the Multiverse Saga, a few theories try to explain how the MCU's multiverse chapter would have played out if Majors' performances had not been so game-changing.
6 There May Have Only Been One Avengers Movie Planned For The Multiverse Saga The MCU's Multiverse Saga is poised to reach a head in 2026's Avengers: Secret Wars. The movie, which gets its name from one of Marvel Comics' most popular stories, is rumored to include many characters from all over Marvel's live-action history, not just the MCU. Before that, Earth's Mightiest Heroes will have another challenge in 2025's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's tease of the Council of Kangs will likely be paid off in the film, with the Avengers having to save the multiverse from Kang and his variants
