A new Star Wars theory suggests there's a secret link between Rey and the first Jedi. George Lucas always insisted Star Wars is like poetry, in that it rhymes. That's why there are so many striking parallels between the original trilogy and the prequels, deliberately woven into the fabric of the saga itself. Such parallelism is a core part of the franchise, and it plays into every Star Wars movie and TV show.
The next few years will see Star Wars change shape quite radically. The Skywalker saga is officially over, and the next three Star Wars movies will take the franchise in a very different direction. Although this likely wasn't the first Jedi - the Jedi Order surely came long after - it is being touted as part of the "Dawn of the Jedi" era.
