GOTG 2 May Have Already Explained The Fantastic 4’s MCU Absence

The Fantastic Four's introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a long time coming, even though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 might provide an easy answer for the team's absence. Marvel Studios has released more than 30 movies and none of them have confirmed where Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm are on Earth-616, despite the team's importance in the comic books.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced viewers to Earth-838's Reed Richards, played by John Krasinski, who some fans longed to see as Mister Fantastic in the MCU. However, the Scarlet Witch quickly killed Earth-838's version of Reed just as soon as he popped up on the screen. As he unraveled, so did the dreams of seeing the Fantastic Four on the big screen anytime soon. Thankfully, after Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019, Marvel started planning to fully incorporate the team in the MCU. Fantastic Four is set to release on February 14, 2025, and casting for the film is underway. But the upcoming movie must explain where Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben have been in the years between Iron Man and Avengers: Endgame, and the answer might lie in Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2's explanation of space travel.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Might Explain Where The Fantastic Four Have Been Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 introduced Jump Points in the MCU, and these hexagonal portals could very easily explain the Fantastic Four's absence in the franchise. Jump Points enable space travelers to swiftly move across the universe, but if not used properly, some could get lost. Perhaps that's what happened to Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben, and that's why they are nowhere to be seen in the MCU.
In the comic books, the Fantastic Four got their powers during a space mission where they were exposed to cosmic rays. It's possible that the MCU's version of the superhero team accidentally entered a Jump Point during their trip and were transported to the opposite side of the galaxy. It could take years for Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben to find their way back to Earth-616, which would give them enough time to become accustomed to their newfound powers. Fantastic Four could use Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's Jump Points to easily explain the plot hole surrounding the team's absence and why no characters have mentioned them in the MCU. If everyone thought they were dead and were unaware of their powers, it would make sense why the team has been missing.
