Henry Cavill becomes Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in new fan-art. Best known for his role as Superman in Zack Snyder's DCEU, Cavill has officially ended his stint as the Man of Steel in light of James Gunn's franchise reboot. That being said, just because his time as an iconic DC hero has already wrapped up, it doesn't mean that he can no longer return to the comic book movie sandbox. Much like many actors nowadays who are both involved in a variety of superhero universes, Cavill can join the MCU, but as a villain.

The image depicts Cavill's Doctor Doom as intimidating. While the majority of the comment section is intrigued by the idea, some of them suggest other roles for the actor including Kraven the Hunter and Punisher, despite both already having actors attached.
Why Henry Cavill Would Be A Perfect MCU Doctor Doom Cavill's Superman casting was an inspired choice for Warner Bros. However, despite his potential as the DCEU's inaugural hero, his stint as the iconic superhero was mired with controversy. The majority of the films that he was a part of were divisive at best. There were also complaints about his glum take on a character that is traditionally hopeful and optimistic. That being said, it's difficult to find anyone who would argue against the idea that Cavill was great as Superman.
Long before Cavill exited the DCEU, Cavill was already being fan-cast in the MCU, primarily as Captain Britain, however. Considering his time as Superman, this makes sense as it would be an easier transition for the character. However, if Cavill wants to do something different and differentiate his time in the DCEU from his possible stint in the MCU, playing an iconic villain like Doctor Doom is the best way to do it. For what it's worth, Cavill has already proven that he can play a ruthless villain as seen in Mission: Impossible — Fallout.
