Star Wars Reveals One Of Vader"s Most Senior Imperial Officers Was An Agent For Darth Maul

Summary
  • General Veers, a key figure in The Empire Strikes Back, was revealed to have been connected to the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate before his appearance in the film. T
  • Crimson Dawn, led by Darth Maul and later Qi'ra, had agents all over the galaxy, including within the Rebel Alliance and the Empire.
  • The events depicted in recent Star Wars comics show that Crimson Dawn planted countless agents within the Empire. It is possible that General Veers, surviving the Battle of Hoth, may have continued to serve the syndicate during the original trilogy.
Star Wars has recently revealed that a top general under Darth Vader was actually one of Darth Maul's Crimson Dawn agents. During the reign of the Empire and after the fall of the Republic, many crime syndicates were at their fullest strength. One of those is the feared Crimson Dawn. As established in the final scenes of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the secret mastermind behind Crimson Dawn was actually Darth Maul, and the surviving Sith Lord had agents all over the galaxy.
Qi'ra, Han Solo's first love, was the character in Solo that showed audiences what Crimson Dawn was really like on the inside. She became a slave to Crimson Dawn and eventually worked her way up through the organization. The new book describing just that, Crimson Climb by E.K. Johnston, has expanded much more on the inner workings of the syndicate, including a future Imperial general who was actually an agent of Maul and Crimson Dawn.
