The DC Universe"s First Official Project Gets Exciting Update From James Gunn 1 Month Before Its Release

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. The DC Universe will finally get underway in one month, and the first project - Creature Commandos - has received a promising update from DC Studios boss James Gunn. The DCU"s live-action offerings will commence with Superman on July 11, 2025, delivering a fresh live-action take on the character that should set the standard for what to expect for the future of the DCU. The franchise will technically commence, however, in 2024 as the animated Creature Commandos series kicks things off with a narrative rooted in DCU canon.
James Gunn was recently questioned via Threads on the project"s progress, where he clarified that the final episode for the series has been finalized. James Gunn - who makes a habit of responding candidly with DCU updates via Threads - didn"t elaborate on exactly when the final episode was finalized. Still, the confirmation comes just a couple of weeks after a distinctly R-rated Creature Commandos trailer was released - so it makes sense that the series is ready to go.
