Original Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter has commented on the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3. Carter gave life to Diana Prince in the Wonder Woman/The New Adventures of Wonder Woman series, which aired for three seasons. The actress then returned as the Amazon Asteria in DC's Wonder Woman 1984. Following Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman 3 getting canceled, Carter has revealed what she thinks of the situation.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, Lynda Carter got candid about Wonder Woman 3 not moving forward at DC. According to the actress, Wonder Woman 3 might only happen if "there’s enough pressure from fans." Carter then went on to explain why she thinks Diana is a unique character, commenting that her "whole thing is about peaceful solutions." Due to the character's special qualities, Carter is confused about Gadot's Wonder Woman not continuing as part of DC's slate of upcoming projects. Check out the full quote below:
“I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans. I just don’t think they have the mind to do it. And I don’t understand that, because it seems to me that Wonder Woman is different from other characters. She’s not just a superhero. Her whole thing is about peaceful solutions. She’s not aggressive to be aggressive. It’s a different story. It’s about inner strength, outer strength. I don’t know why they tabled it, because it’s a great franchise.”
