DC Universe founder James Gunn responds about the original Green Lantern TV show that was being developed before the creation of DC Studios. A new era is coming for DC Comics' most iconic superheroes and villains as Gunn's DC Universe is in the works. One of the many big mythologies that will be introduced in the DC Universe is the Green Lantern Corps, focusing on the Emerald Knights.
As DC Studios is now up and running, a new Lanterns TV show is currently being developed for the DC Universe. Gunn was asked on Threads by @mysticalmaniac2 about the Green Lantern series that was in the works before the DC Universe line-up was revealed.
When asked what happened to "the original Lantern series that was being developed for the DCEU," Gunn chimed in with, "I didn't think it was in the DCEU, but that was before my time." The DC Studios co-CEO also responded regarding the question if he would consider casting Finn Wittrock, who was set to play Guy Gardner, by saying, "I think Finn's a talented guy and he'll be okay!" while also stressing that "it's not being "done dirty", it's a part of the job" when the fan expressed that they felt the actor was done dirty by losing the gig.
