The DC Universe Reboot Is Already Making Up For A Big DCEU Wonder Woman Snub

Summary
  • Wonder Woman's new prequel series, Paradise Lost, will explore the hero's Greek mythology origins that the DCEU didn't fully delve into.
  • The DCU's Gods & Monsters theme could be anchored by Wonder Woman's mythological ties to Greek mythology.
  • Circe, a powerful sorceress from Greek mythology and a frequent Wonder Woman villain, will appear in DC's Creature Commandos, hinting at more mythological elements to come in Paradise Lost.
The DCU’s version of Wonder Woman will be getting her own prequel series titled Paradise Lost, which gives DC a chance to explore part of her origins that the DCEU didn’t pay enough attention to. Though many still held out hope that Wonder Woman 3 might still happen - including TV’s original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter - it is clear that the DCU will be moving forward with a new version of Diana Prince.
This new version of Wonder Woman’s story will reportedly explore a new world not previously touched on too much by the DCEU. Paradise Lost has also been likened to Game of Thrones, meaning audiences could be getting some political intrigue along with their super-heroics. Although Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman dipped her toes into this world, it seems as though the DCU will be making much more space to show where Wonder Woman came from than in the previous cinematic universe.
