Ravonna Renslayer returned for the final episode of Loki season 2, though her fate in the future of the MCU has been left unclear. Gugu Mbatha-Raw debuted as Ravonna Renslayer in Loki season 1, introduced as the steadfast and dedicated judge at the Time Variance Authority who oversaw Loki's initial case following his escape during the Avengers' Time Heist in Endgame. After the truth of the TVA was revealed, rogue Renslayer embarked on a mission to seek free will and the creator of the TVA: Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains. This led to her having a pivotal role in debuting a new Kang the Conqueror variant in Loki season 2.
After being absent for the start of Loki season 2, Ravonna Renslayer returned alongside Tara Strong's artificially intelligent clock Miss Minutes in episode 3, "1893," on a mission to track down Kang the Conqueror variant Victor Timely. Intercepted by Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie, Renslayer and Miss Minutes were thrust through a Time Door to the Citadel at the End of Time, where the truth of He Who Remains' and Renslayer's partnership was revealed. After wreaking more havoc on the TVA, Sylvie - while enchanting Hunter X-5, a.k.a. Brad Wolfe - pruned Renslayer, sending her to the Void from Loki season 1's penultimate episode, "Journey into Mystery," leaving her fate uncertain.
Renslayer Meets Alioth In The Void At the end of Loki season 2, episode 6, "Glorious Purpose," Tom Hiddleston's former God of Mischief became the most powerful being in the MCU, sitting guard over the infinite branching timelines of the multiverse, and bringing order back to the newly-refurbished TVA. While everything at the TVA seemed to return to a sense of normalcy, Ravonna Renslayer was shown waking up in the Void after being pruned two episodes earlier. There, she was doused in a vibrant purple glow, which presumably emanated from the cloud monster Alioth, the creature that was introduced during Loki season 1's "Journey into Mystery."
Loki unites the timelines of the multiverse at the end of season 2's finale, all of which come together to form the shape of Yggdrasil, a mythical tree from Norse mythology that connects every realm in Norse mythology, though envelops the entire multiverse in the MCU.
What Is Alioth? The Void's Guardian Explained Close Alioth was first seen in Loki season 1, episode 5, after the God of Mischief was pruned from the TVA and found himself in the Void, a wasteland at the end of time. Since the TVA can't actually destroy the things they prune, they send everything pruned and every erased timeline to the Void, where Alioth devours any organic matter, leaving only the shells of buildings, landmarks, and miscellaneous objects behind. As Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki explained, "We're in a shark tank. Alioth is the shark." Nevertheless, many pruned Loki variants had managed to survive in the Void, with some living underground, staying away from Alioth on the surface.
After Loki and Sylvie enchanted Alioth, the Citadel at the End of Time was revealed, and the two God of Mischief variants came face-to-face with He Who Remains. The Kang the Conqueror variant provided a brief history of the Multiversal War, noting that he had tamed Alioth and used the creature to end the war. After the end of the war, He Who Remains kept Alioth as his guard dog, ensuring nobody but two Loki variants working together could access him. Even after He Who Remains' death, Alioth appears to still be scouring the Void, though with nothing new being pruned, it's unclear how long the creature will last unfed.
What Renslayer's Ending In Loki Season 2 Means Ravonna Renslayer being pruned and meeting Alioth in the Void at the end of Loki season 2, episode 6, means that it's likely she has been consumed by the ominous creature. However, her demise wasn't actually seen on screen, meaning it's possible she survived, and could return in the MCU's future. After He Who Remains' death in Loki season 1's finale, Alioth may have been relieved of its duty in devouring pruned individuals, so Renslayer may be safe. She could even make her way back to the Citadel at the End of Time, though this is now where Loki resides, holding together the branching timelines of the multiverse.
Miss Minutes previously revealed that He Who Remains and Ravonna Renslayer had a relationship, with the latter helping the Kang the Conqueror variant to win the Multiversal War. This connection perhaps hints at Renslayer having a history with Alioth, who was also used as a weapon in the war, and while Renslayer wouldn't remember this, Alioth perhaps does. If this is the case, it's possible that Alioth simply wouldn't devour Renslayer, allowing her to live safely in the Void. One MCU theory suggests the Void will be important to Avengers: Secret Wars, meaning Ravonna Renslayer could return in the Multiverse Saga's final project following her appearance in Loki.
