While Daredevil: Born Again's release date seems to be unclear at this moment, with a recent copyright filing teasing a delay from 2024 to the start of 2025, the show is one of Marvel Studios' most anticipated. Multiple actors from Netflix's Daredevil return for the series, and fans have their eyes on a certain villain's potential comeback.
On Instagram, digital artist @bensolo_cup shared a Daredevil: Born Again poster that brings back Bullseye from Netflix's Daredevil.
The main characters in Daredevil: Born Again's cast — Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal's Punisher — appear with Bullseye towering above them. Daredevil and the Punisher's suits get updated designs, with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen getting his "DD" logo.
How Daredevil: Born Again’s Creative Overhaul Could Lead To Bullseye’s Return
Daredevil: Born Again began filming in March; however, production on the anticipated MCU series had to be stopped in June, after only a few months, due to the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike. After months of no news about the state of the series, a report highlighting Daredevil: Born Again's production problems was released, and it reveals that Marvel Studios is starting over with the series.
According to the report, Daredevil: Born Again is going through a creative overhaul, with Marvel Studios having fired the series' writers and directors. The studio is looking to start fresh, going away from Daredevil: Born Again's original plan, which was described as "a legal procedural that did not resemble the Netflix version, known for its action and violence." With Marvel noticing that moving away from Netflix Daredevil's characteristic action and violence was a bad choice, one of the new elements brought into the MCU series could be the return of Bullseye.
Netflix Daredevil season 3 ended with a tease that Wilson Bethel's Benjamin Poindexter would become the supervillain Bullseye. Ever since Daredevil: Born Again was announced, Marvel fans had been requesting for Bethel to appear as Bullseye in the series, which did not seem likely, given key characters like Foggy Nelson and Karen Page did not make the cut, and there was no talk about Bullseye. Now that the series is starting fresh, bringing back Bullseye would put Daredevil: Born Again back on track, as Bethel's version of the character is dark and violent, just like what
Daredevil: Born Again's new direction should be.
