The MCU Just Hinted At Who Its Next Kang Villain Could Be

Summary
  • Victor Timely may not be the only Kang variant appearing in Loki season 2, as hints from Sylvie's costume suggest another variant's upcoming appearance.
  • Sylvie's ankh earring in Loki season 2 could connect to an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh variant of Kang the Conqueror, possibly Jonathan Majors' Rama-Tut.
  • While there is no confirmation, it is possible that more variants of Kang the Conqueror could appear in Loki season 2, offering the best opportunity to bring them into focus in the Multiverse Saga.
Marvel Studios' Loki season 2 has introduced a new variant of Kang the Conqueror, but one detail might tease the appearance of another villainous variant in the Phase 5 series. Jonathan Majors debuted in Loki season 1 as a variant of Kang the Conqueror, He Who Remains, and since then, he has been set up as the primary antagonist of the Multiverse Saga. Majors has now appeared in several MCU projects and has brought many different variants of Kang the Conqueror to life, with Phase 5's Loki season 2 marking the introduction of another: Victor Timely. However, Timely might not be the only Kang variant appearing in Loki season 2.
Victor Timely was introduced in Loki season 2, episode 3, "1893," which saw Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Owen Wilson's Mobius travel to the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 to cross paths with Gugu Mbatha-Raw's rogue TVA Judge Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes. The pair realize that Renslayer and Miss Minutes have plans for Timely, however, but bring the early Kang variant back to the TVA to solve problems with the Temporal Loom. While Timely is set to play an integral role in the upcoming episodes of Loki season 2, another Kang may also be making an appearance, thanks to hints in the costuming of Sophia Di Martino's Loki variant, Sylvie.

Sylvie Wears An Ankh Earring In Loki Season 2 Sylvie spent the majority of Loki season 1 trying to reach the man behind the Time Variance Authority, seeking revenge on the organization that captured her as a child and chased her for her entire life. After killing He Who Remains in Loki season 1's finale, however, Sylvie traveled to a new branched timeline and established a new life for herself as a McDonald's worker, only for it to be interrupted by Loki and Mobius. Sylvie has since got back in action and has been showing off a new costume, which includes a single earring that could provide a subtle tease at a new Kang the Conqueror variant's upcoming appearance.
Sylvie's earring in Loki season 2 is in the shape of an ankh, an Egyptian hieroglyph that can be interpreted as meaning "life." This could be a choice by Sylvie to solidify the fact that she has found a new life thanks to her newfound free will in the wake of killing He Who Remains. However, the fact that Loki's creators chose to provide Sylvie with an Ancient Egyptian symbol is interesting, as this could hint at a sinister variant of Kang the Conqueror that has direct connections to Ancient Egypt and has, in fact, already been seen in the MCU.
Sylvie’s Ankh Could Connect To A Kang The Conqueror Variant 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania not only saw Majors debut as Kang the Conqueror himself, but also portray many other Kang variants in the film's mid-credits scene, comprising the mysterious Council of Kangs. The Council of Kangs appeared to be overseen by three primary variants of Kang the Conqueror: Immortus, a version of the Scarlet Centurion, and the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Rama-Tut. Since the Council of Kangs debuted in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, there has been speculation concerning when these Kang variants would reappear, but it seems as though Rama-Tut could have a part to play in Loki season 2.
The ankh is a symbol often associated with Ancient Egyptian gods and Pharaohs, so the fact that Sylvie is wearing an ankh as an earring perhaps hints at a prominent Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh making an appearance in Loki season 2. While this is a subtle detail that many may have missed, it's difficult to imagine Loki's creators picking an ankh earring coincidentally, so this is clearly a signifier of Jonathan Majors' Rama-Tut hiding just around the corner. What role he may have in Loki season 2 is another question, but as the MCU's Multiverse Saga develops, it's likely that Kang and his variants will start to appear more frequently.
Will Rama-Tut Make An Appearance In Loki Season 2? There has currently been no confirmation that any further Kang the Conqueror variants will be appearing in Loki season 2 following Victor Timely's official debut. Even so, it's very possible that more variants of the villain could show their faces, particularly since Loki, Mobius, and Ke Huy Quan's Ouroboros, a.k.a. OB, may need their different Temporal Auras to mend the Temporal Loom. There was speculation that Rama-Tut could have appeared during Phase 4's Moon Knight, but this didn't come to fruition, so Loki season 2's multiversal action might be the best opportunity to bring several more variants of Kang the Conqueror into focus.
