The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting back on track with Daredevil: Born Again as Marvel Studios have landed new showrunners and directors for the Disney+ drama. One of the MCU's most anticipated TV shows recently ran into its biggest block yet as Marvel Studios decided to retool Daredevil: Born Again season 1 after the executives weren't happy with the result of the first couple of episodes that had been produced. As Marvel Studios wanted something closer to Netflix's Daredevil TV show, the writers were let go, as were the directors for the other unproduced episodes.
Following the massive overhaul for Daredevil: Born Again, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Dario Scardapane, who worked on Netflix's The Punisher, will be serving as the showrunner. Loki season 2's lead directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who also worked on fellow MCU title Moon Knight, are coming on board for Daredevil: Born Again season 1 to direct the remaining episodes that weren't filmed. At the time of this story's publication, Marvel Studios and Disney+ haven't offered any statements on the recent hirings.
Why The New Daredevil: Born Again Showrunner Is A Great Fit For The Series

While it remains to be seen what Scardapane will do with Daredevil: Born Again, this is a massive step in the right direction for Matt Murdock's new MCU TV show. One of the reported details that emerged about Daredevil: Born Again's initial snag was that Marvel Studios executives felt it was too much of a legal procedural. Even though the attorney aspect of Matt's life was a crucial part of the original TV show, it was also a superhero adventure at the same time.
Having someone like Scardapane board the project shows that Marvel Studios are finally tapping into the talent that existed during the original Marvel TV era. It's also a major benefit to have someone who worked on The Punisher since Jon Bernthal is set to reprise the role of Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again season 1. The same goes for Benson and Moorhead, as they are also already familiar with the current MCU landscape as they work with Scardapane, who can hopefully bring the strengths of the Marvel-Netflix shows.
