Galactus and the Silver Surfer have both now been cast for
The Fantastic Four, and these iconic villains have been imagined in dark MCU fan art. While Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige teased the development of The Fantastic Four back in 2019, it wasn't until recently that major updates began to reveal more about the highly-anticipated MCU reboot. Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four will star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel's First Family, while
the Fantastic Four team is expected to be pitted against a variety of powerful villains, including Galactus and the Silver Surfer.
Julia Garner joined the cast of The Fantastic Four in April 2024 as Shalla-Bal's Silver Surfer, and was soon joined by Ralph Ineson in May 2024 as the planet-eating cosmic villain, Galactus. These powerful Marvel Comics villains have now been depicted in dark MCU art shared by bosslogic, ahead of The Fantastic Four's premiere in July 2025.
In Marvel Comics,
the Silver Surfer is the Herald of Galactus, seeking worlds for the villain to consume. This authoritarian relationship can be seen in this stunning piece of art, depicting cosmic beings Galactus and Shalla-Bal's Silver Surfer ahead of their MCU debuts.

What Makes Ralph Ineson & Julia Garner Perfect For Galactus & Silver Surfer? Close Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner are inspired casting choices for Galactus and the Silver Surfer in the MCU's The Fantastic Four reboot. They will be joined by John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser, who have been cast in undisclosed roles in the upcoming Phase 6 movie, though are also speculated to be portraying villains opposite the new Fantastic Four team. While
Marvel Studios was initially rumored to be including Norrin Radd's original Silver Surfer, and was also speculated to be eyeing perhaps Antonio Banderas or Javier Bardem for the role of Galactus, these new casting choices may be even better.
Galactus and the Silver Surfer previously appeared in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Galactus was depicted as a cosmic cloud, while the Silver Surfer was portrayed physically by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne.
English actor and narrator Ralph Ineson is perhaps best known for his roles of Dagmer Cleftjaw in Game of Thrones, Amycus Carrow in the Harry Potter franchise, and Chris Finch in the UK version of The Office.
What sets him apart from other Galactus candidates, however, is the actor's recognizably deep and rough Yorkshire accent. This accent has helped Ralph Ineson deliver some of the most commanding, haunting, and imposing performances, such as that of Nikolai Tarakanov in HBO's Chernobyl, and will bring a sense of authority, intimidation, and grandeur to Galactus in the MCU's upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot.
Best known for her starring role of Ruth Langmore in Netflix's Ozark, Julia Garner may also be the perfect choice for Shalla-Bal's Silver Surfer in the MCU's Phase 6.
Not least because of her slender physique, Garner is a powerhouse performer, able to deliver intense moments, as well as a vulnerability that is perfect for The Fantastic Four's Silver Surfer. Garner's work in dramas, including The Americans, Maniac, Inventing Anna, Grandma, and The Assistant, prove she is capable of bringing emotion and tension to Shalla-Bal. The partnership of Garner and Ineson in
The Fantastic Four will be something to behold.
