Deadpool has been an outcast from the X-Men team throughout his entire Marvel Comics history, and this will probably continue in the MCU, with his stories being kept separate from the new team. However, since he is now one of the MCU's most-established mutant characters, featuring Deadpool in an X-Men reboot would help to solidify the team as a clear part of the MCU. He could, of course, be a member of the team briefly, though the X-Men would soon realize that he's not cut out for the job.

Marvel Studios revealed at this year's SDCC that the Russo brothers would be returning to direct Doomsday and its sequel, Secret Wars, with both projects featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Deadpool and Doctor Doom have fought many times in Marvel Comics' history, so the former's inclusion in Avengers: Doomsday makes sense.

Phase 6's Avengers movies are expected to explore the concept of the multiverse in great detail, which could give weight to Deadpool & Wolverine's tease of Deadpool being a very special and significant figure in the multiverse. Avengers: Doomsday could see Earth-616 and Earth-10005, the designation of Fox's X-Men universe, converge, which would easily bring together Deadpool and Doctor Doom. While this would make sense, Doomsday's sequel might be a better place for Deadpool to return.

This is the perfect place for Deadpool to return to the MCU, as Secret Wars could feature the destruction of the multiverse and the establishment of Battleworld by Doctor Doom.
