DC Just Gave Superman & Supergirl Super Saiyan Transformations

Summary
  • My Adventures With Superman season 2 wraps up with Supergirl and Superman getting their Super Saiyan moment against Brainiac.
  • The anime-inspired series pays homage to Dragon Ball, particularly in Supergirl's transformation from villain to protector.
  • The power-up moment not only showcases Supergirl and Superman's strength, but also highlights the importance of compassion and familial connection.
My Adventures With Superman continued to wear its anime influences on its sleeve, this time giving Supergirl and the Man of Steel their own Super Saiyan transformations. DC's latest Superman animated series recently wrapped up its second season, where the show really began to carve out its own identity. Adapting the Superman lore from a fresh perspective, My Adventures With Superman has provided a series which feels both nostalgic and new, which includes a fantastic adaptation of "For the Man Who Has Everything" and a unique take on the iconic villain Brainiac.
My Adventures With Superman has alluded to anime series that influenced its story and style throughout its run, with Supergirl's storyline inspired by Dragon Ball's Vegeta - that of a villain turned protector of Earth. Kara's shift from antagonist to Supergirl is some of the best character work the show has to offer, setting her up to be an important part of the show going forward. With My Adventures With Superman season 3 confirmed, hopefully more Dragon Ball inspiration can continue to be found - especially since the sequel season's last Dragon Ball-esque moment is so iconic.
