Justice League and Rebel Moon filmmaker Zack Snyder reacts to Henry Cavill's
Deadpool & Wolverine cameo, marking it as his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder, who cast Cavill as Superman for 2013's Man of Steel, was asked if he had heard about the British star finally appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine as a Wolverine variant. While Snyder hasn't seen Deadpool & Wolverine yet, he shared the following:
I haven’t seen it yet, but I did hear about it. Sounds fun.
When the trade brought up how Deadpool joked about how Marvel Studios would treat Cavill better "than the studio down the street," Snyder didn't respond but grinned. The interviewer did ask Snyder if he thought that was the perfect casting after the many regime changes at Warner Bros. Discovery, which was part of Cavill's Superman run coming to an end, as the DCEU filmmaker said the following:
Well, Henry is an amazing Superman to me, obviously. I hired him. I wanted him to be Superman. So any coins left on the table are unfortunate, and in that way, it would be great to have more Henry. I always think you could have more Henry.
