Marvel Just Revealed 4 New Clues To Joe Locke"s Character"s Identity In Agatha All Along

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 3.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of mystery once again, and Agatha All Along"s latest episode has provided additional clues to Joe Locke"s Teen character"s true identity in the series. The story of the new series has directly followed the events of WandaVision in original and unexpected ways and has adopted some of that show"s mystery-box format. A number of questions have already emerged with the first three episodes of the series, and it seems likely that the show will lead to satisfying reveals throughout its run.
Agatha Harkness has been an unusual character to build a show around. The character has typically been used as a supporting player rather than the head of a titular series. Agatha debuted in the comics as the governess to Franklin Richards all the way back in 1970 and has persisted in the comics since. It seems that components of her lore are being used in Agatha All Along, but much of the show is a new invention. Still, characters associated with Agatha are likely to appear, suggesting Teen"s true identity.
A Witch Put A Sigil On Teen To Hide Him From Witch Folk Teen Is Unable To Say His Name In Agatha All Along Close Teen"s identity has not been revealed, but from the latest episodes it does seem that the character is deeply connected to someone with incredible powers of witchcraft. In the latest episode, the rest of Agatha"s coven sees Teen"s inability to say his name explained, and it scares them all tremendously. This reveals plainly that the sigil that has been put on Teen comes from a witch, and is an intentional tool that will cause disturbances to the group.
Being hidden from witches is an essential component of Teen"s character, even as he tries to participate in their actions along the Witches" Road. This suggests that Teen is perhaps being used in ways that even he doesn"t recognize. Clearly, someone is trying to obfuscate his identity, although it does not appear to be Teen himself. This suggests that perhaps Teen"s identity is being used as a pawn in the plans of someone far more sinister.
Teen Says "A Lot Happened" To Him At 13 Joe Locke's Character Makes Some Interesting Comments In The Latest Episode Close Teen is 16 in Agatha All Along, where he vaguely refers to events that happened when he was 13. He says that "a lot" happened during this period, which would have been three years prior. Considering WandaVision was three years ago, this suggests an interesting connection. Following this, rumors that Teen could be playing one of Wanda"s children have intensified. This seems fairly likely, although there are also some issues with it, especially when considering the ages of Wanda’s children.
First of all, Billy and Tommy do not experience age in a normal way in WandaVision, suggesting that this timeline may have no relevance at all. They also do not ever appear to be 13 in the WandaVision series, being 10 in the season finale. In addition, their ages may be modified by Agatha. Following all of this, as well as comments from Teen about his father loving his sous vide and his coming from Eastview, some of these details may not align with this theory.
Agatha Wouldn't Recognize Her Own Son, Implying Teen Is Nicholas Scratch Nicholas Scratch Is A Terrifying Villain In Marvel Comics Close In Agatha All Along episode 3, Jennifer Kale reveals to Teen that Agatha traded her son, Nicholas Scratch, for the Darkhold. This says terrifying things about Agatha, but it also suggests that there is still a link between herself and her son that remains to be explored, not to mention that she would not recognize him after giving him up as a baby. It would be strange to introduce the details of her son without that leading to a Nicholas Scratch reveal, as the villain is a significant character in Marvel Comics and is linked to the Salem Seven.

With that said, this suggestion almost seems a little too obvious and too early in the season. It feels almost like an intentional misdirect, and it also doesn"t align with Teen"s actions or motivations. He seems perfectly willing to reveal himself to Agatha and the coven, and it is only the sigil upon him that stops him. While this could be a facade, it would be a strange choice to make Teen reveal himself to be Nicholas Scratch.
Mephisto Is Mentioned, Potentially Connected To Teen Mephisto Has Finally Been Confirmed In The MCU Close Agatha All Along has finally confirmed Mephisto"s existence in the MCU with an offhand comment by Jennifer Kale. Speaking to Teen, she warns him about trusting Agatha. This confirmation of Mephisto in the MCU is an enormous addition to the universe, especially following the speculation that has swirled about the character ever since WandaVision. If Mephisto is connected to this story, it could be through Teen"s character, who may be an agent of Mephisto.
With that said, Teen has been nothing if not earnest in Agatha All Along. If he is genuinely a malicious force, and is aligned with the satanic figure of Mephisto, this would undo virtually everything that has been shown about his character so far. A heelturn by Teen is certainly not impossible, but it would reveal everything viewers know about the character as a facade. While there may be connections between Teen and Mephisto, it is unlikely that Teen is actively working as a secret agent for the demonic force.

1 Rumors concerning Joe Locke"s role in Agatha All Along have circulated ever since the actor was cast in the series. However, it seems that every possible role has both proof to support it as well as reasons to doubt its validity. The fact of the matter is that Teen"s character will be whatever makes the most sense for the story itself, although it is certainly fun to speculate. Whether Billy or Tommy Maximoff, Nicholas Scratch, an agent of Mephisto, or someone else entirely, the character has been an excellent addition to Agatha All Along.
