A new Marvel Cinematic Universe theory uses Doctor Doom"s arrival to finally solve a long-running mystery. Robert Downey Jr. is the most important actor in the MCU. After leaving Iron Man behind, the role that transformed his career and built the shared universe, the actor is returning to Marvel in the MCU"s hour of need as the franchise"s new Multiverse Saga main villain, Doctor Doom. RDJ"s version of Victor von Doom will play a role in multiple movies on the MCU"s slate, with confirmed appearances in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Mordo Has Been Hunting Sorcerers Since 2016’s Doctor Strange The MCU Has Forgotten To Include The Character Close Chiwetel Ejiofor"s Mordo was a key figure in Benedict Cumberbatch"s first Doctor Strange movie. He was the character responsible for inviting Strange to Kamar-Taj and helping make him feel at home as the would-be hero trained with the Ancient One. However, by the end of the movie, the friendship between the two took a turn for the worse. While Doctor Strange"s new Dark Dimension trip with Clea could serve as an alert for Mordo to reappear and go after him, the MCU character"s return could end up being tied to someone else.
Doctor Doom’s Comic Book History With Magic Explained Victor Von Doom Has A Long Relationship With The Mystical Arts Close Doctor Doom is one of Marvel Comics" biggest villains due to his genius-level intellect and wide range of abilities. Those included powers related to magic, with Victor von Doom being well-versed in the mystical arts in the comics. Victor"s knowledge of magic started with his mother teaching him, and later, as a way to find how he could retrieve his mother from the demon Mephisto. Doom has also sacrificed a lover in exchange for magical powers. Through time travel, Doctor Doom manages to learn from the powerful magic user Morgan Le Fey and others.
More recently, Marvel Comics gave Doctor Doom his biggest feat in the magical world yet. With Doctor Strange incapacitated, Victor von Doom became Sorcerer Supreme in his place to stop a vampire threat, deciding not to give Strange back his mantle after the danger was dealt with. Currently, Doctor Doom continues to be the Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Comics. With RDJ being the one chosen to portray the MCU"s version of Victor von Doom, making him the Sorcerer Supreme of his world could increase the danger that the Avengers will be in when they take on the villain.
Mordo's Return Could Tie Up A Mystery & Set Up Doctor Doom As A Threat At The Same Time RDJ Could Help The MCU Solve Its Mordo Mystery Close Doctor Doom"s arrival in the MCU is an excellent way to put an end to the franchise"s 8-year-old Mordo mystery. According to an MCU theory, Mordo could be drawn to Doctor Doom"s use of Dark Magic once he goes from whatever universe he is from to Earth-616. If he is as powerful as he is in the comics, RDJ"s Doctor Doom would overpower Mordo and kill the sorcerer, ending his quest to strip those who abused their magical powers of them.
