According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) and Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk) are both currently "in the mix" for the role of John Stewart in HBO"s Lanterns. The trade notes that it is unclear if they are "testing or reading" but that a decision could be finalized as early as the end of this weekend. Further, THR reports Damson Idris (Snowfall) was in contention at one point, but isn"t any longer. At the time of this story"s publication, DC Studios, HBO, and Gunn have yet to comment on the Lanterns report.
