Grant Gustin"s version of
The Flash movie comes to life in a stunning DC concept trailer. 2023 marked the worst year for the DCEU movie timeline as Warner Bros. Discovery had several box office disappointments with their final films in the franchise. The Flash movie box office was an historic bomb despite the significant marketing push for the Ezra Miller-led movie. To make matters worse, it premiered only a month after Gustin"s beloved and long-running The Flash TV show ended its run on The CW.
Now, it has been over a year since The Flash series finale aired on The CW, but the Arrowverse drama remains popular worldwide thanks to streaming. To show what Gustin"s iteration of The Flash movie could have looked like, popular YouTube editor and graphic designer Julian Bell made a concept trailer. Check it out below.
Bell mentions in the video description that
The Flash: The Final Run trailer is heavily inspired by Geoff Johns" The Flash Rebirth comic run. The concept trailer features key elements from Johns" series, including when Barry Allen becomes the new Black Flash.
What Grant Gustin's The Flash Movie Concept Trailer Means For The Arrowverse Close Even though Gustin may not be getting his own The Flash movie anytime soon,
the concept trailer highlights once again the massive support there is for his version of the Scarlet Speedster. One of the biggest disappointments of The Flash movie"s cameos was the film snubbing Gustin, especially since it seemed like his inclusion should have been a no-brainer. After Miller appeared in the Arrowverse"s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover and shared the screen with Gustin"s version of Barry, it set up the perfect opportunity for The Flash film to then include an appearance by the Arrowverse star.
Once The Flash movie actually released, its multiverse story also left something to be desired,
as the DCEU installment didn"t take the opportunity to honor The Flash"s great live-action legacy, which has primarily been carried on through Gustin and John Wesley Shipp"s respective TV shows. Seeing Gustin"s The Flash movie through concept trailers just highlights even more that he is the best version of the DC icon, with far better story opportunities to pull from in comparison to Miller"s arc.
Our Take On Grant Gustin's The Flash Movie Concept Trailer
After seeing what The Flash Rebirth could look like in live-action,
it definitely begs the question if The Flash TV show could ever make a comeback, even as a limited event series. With James Gunn"s DC Universe currently not having any plans for The Flash, time will tell what the speedster"s future will look like in live-action. Hopefully, even if
The Flash series is over and never comes back, Gustin"s version of the beloved DC hero will be back at some point in live-action.
