Ahead of the premiere of
Daredevil: Born Again, concept art reveals that Charlie Cox"s Marvel Cinematic Universe hero almost got his classic logo from a previous TV show. One of the most popular heroes from the Marvel-Netflix era will be making his comeback to the MCU timeline in 2025, with Cox headlining Daredevil: Born Again. Thankfully, despite the long wait, the MCU has been planting the seeds for his upcoming series following numerous appearances during Phase 4.
One of the big concept art pieces that has been revealed in Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding (via The Artbook Collector) was an alternative look for Cox"s Daredevil during his appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
The MCU was very close to seeing Cox"s Devil of Hell"s Kitchen finally sport the beloved DD logo on his costume, which can be seen below:
While not featured in the finalized version of the suit,
the Disney+ series did end up adapting the famous yellow-and-red-costume for Cox during his Daredevil guest spots in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The last time he was seen in the MCU was during the Echo series premiere, showcasing him back in his Daredevil costume from the Netflix TV show.
What Marvel Studios' Scrapped Daredevil Costume Design Means For Charlie Cox's MCU Future Close There has been no official statement from anyone at Marvel Studios about why they have continued to exclude the DD logo from Cox"s Daredevil uniforms. Even after Daredevil: Born Again"s creative overhaul, it doesn"t appear the Phase 5 TV show has incorporated this detail into the hero"s suit, which has been glimpsed through set photos. However, the MCU concept art could serve as a sign of hope for the Devil of Hell"s Kitchen.
Perhaps the reason why Daredevil didn"t have the logo in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was possibly to save that moment for Cox"s actual Daredevil: Born Again TV show. To a degree,
it would feel like a cop out for Matt to upgrade his Daredevil costume with the beloved logo on it, but on a different hero"s series. For fans who have followed Cox"s version of Daredevil since the Netflix days, it would be especially rewarding if they get to see that final piece come to fruition through Daredevil: Born Again.
Our Take On The New MCU Daredevil Costume Concept Art
Despite not getting the logo for his She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episodes,
it is always possible that Cox"s Daredevil: Born Again series will finally bring the symbol to life, whether it is in seasons 1 or 2. This would not only be a nice nod to the hero"s conventional comic costume, but also a way to help tie the old and new eras of Daredevil together. Hopefully,
Daredevil: Born Again will complete Cox"s MCU suit after all these years.
Daredevil: Born Again CrimeActionSuperheroThriller After Charlie Cox's cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, composed of 18 episodes, serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix's three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU's main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.
