6 Times Tuvok Was Star Trek: Voyager"s Vulcan Villain

Summary
  • Tuvok, although a main character, often played the role of the villain in various Star Trek: Voyager episodes.
  • Tuvok's actions as the antagonist were sometimes out of his control, as he was forced into villainous acts by outside forces.
  • However, Tuvok's Vulcan logic and decision-making occasionally caused problems and strained his relationships with his fellow crewmates.
Although Tuvok (Tim Russ) was one of Star Trek: Voyager's main characters, he was often used as the villain of various episodes. Tuvok was the USS Voyager's Vulcan Security Chief and Tactical Officer, the first Vulcan main character on a Star Trek show since Spock (Leonard Nimoy) on Star Trek: The Original Series. Unlike Spock, Tuvok was fully Vulcan, which resulted in some interesting differences between the two characters and occasionally ended up getting Tuvok into trouble working on a ship of mostly non-Vulcan crewmates.
Although he was certainly the protagonist of many episodes, Tuvok also found himself in the role of the villain quite often, especially in Voyager's early seasons. To be fair, acting as the antagonist of an episode was almost always out of Tuvok's control, as he was often forced into villainous actions by outside forces. However, there were times when Tuvok's Vulcan nature got the better of him, causing him to act in a way that angered his fellow crewmates or caused other problems during the show.
